Looknow
Shanghai
Looknow is a retail platform that brings together designer brands from across the globe. The Humor design studio designed bespoke USM installations for their Looknow Park store in Shanghai.
When entering the space, the eye is drawn immediately to the green USM counter. Humor designed this multifunctional piece to meet the store's requirements for storage, checkout, customer service and display. This design has been replicated in other Looknow stores across different cities, becoming an iconic visual feature of their shops.
Adjacent to the green USM counter rises a stunning 10-metre-high illuminated art installation set within a three-storey spiral staircase. This one-of-a-kind piece was created entirely from USM Haller components. It features coloured metal tubes and panels in classic USM shades such as white, blue, orange, green, yellow and red, the colours creating a dynamic interplay enhanced by the illuminated columns. Visitors can appreciate the installation from different angles as they climb the stairs, each step offering a different perspective of this work of art's beauty and creativity.
The installation can be endlessly modified. Its parts can be easily dismantled and reassembled to adapt to its environment, transforming to match Looknow's evolving themes by simply exchanging the coloured panels.
ALM/Busy Circuits
London
ALM/Busy Circuits is a UK-based audio electronics company known for its synthesiser and mixing modules. It celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2024 by opening a pop-up shop in King's Cross, London.
The brand caters to a diverse clientele of musicians, producers, sound designers and artists. All its products are manufactured in the UK, with an emphasis on superior quality, ethical practices and responsible sourcing.
USM was therefore a natural choice for the design of its store. The pop-up utilised an elegant mix of USM Haller metal and glass panels to display the ALM products. The modular nature of USM made for ease of dismantling of the pop-up at the end of its run, allowing the structure to be reassembled in a different configuration in the future.

Madhappy
Tokyo
Los Angeles-based fashion brand Madhappy opened a pop-up store and café in April 2024 in Tokyo’s Shibuya district. Following the success of flagship stores and pop-ups in diverse cities such as LA, New York, Aspen and Miami, this was their first pop-up in Japan.
The light grey USM Haller furniture, coordinated with the interior, creates a luxurious yet simple and elegant atmosphere, allowing the products to take centre stage.
Hiking Patrol
Paris
Since its creation in Oslo in 2019, Hiking Patrol has become a specialist platform for lifestyle and outdoor brands. Hiking Patrol chose USM furniture to present its own men’s collection for Paris Fashion Week in summer 2024. Partnering with USM was an obvious choice, as its timeless and durable characteristics synchronise perfectly with the values held dear by Hiking Patrol.
The Conran Shop
Tokyo
The Conran Shop, renowned for its furniture and lighting, has its first permanent fashion corner in Japan dedicated to the Graphpaper brand. The "clear, simple and useful" philosophy of founder Terence Conran naturally applies to both Graphpaper and USM.
The collection is displayed in USM Haller furniture fitted with medium grey panels. The use of perforated panels allows for ventilation. The installation also integrates lighting with the use of USM Haller E components.
