If you move the room around and your furniture doesn’t quite fit, we can reconfigure your modules to adapt the furniture’s shape. If your storage needs expand, we can work with you to add new modules with the exact functionality you need. If you redecorate, you can add modules or panels in a new accent colour to match the updated decor.

Our quality standards are rigorous and exacting, allowing you to depend on every USM product for decades. For example, we test every door hinge by opening and closing it 40,000 times, ensuring that it makes absolutely no noise every time.

As a furniture company, that means two things. Firstly, we hold ourselves to the very highest standards when it comes to the materials and production methods we use and the energy and emissions they produce. Secondly, we do everything we can to provide our customers with furniture that allows them to live sustainably.

We build and frequently redevelop our factories and workshops to meet a high environmental standard. The steel at the heart of our products is highly recyclable, and our manufacturing processes are carefully built around our energy efficiency targets and almost entirely recyclable at every stage.

We’re proud to have been recognised for our commitment to reducing emissions. In 2007, we became the first European company to be certified by the Greenguard Environmental Institute for the low particle and chemical emissions of our products. Low emissions make home and work environments healthier by reducing indoor air pollution.

Our USM Haller and USM Kitos M product lines, which account for more than 92% of our sales, are Cradle-to-Cradle certified.

The quicker a product has to be replaced, the worse it is for the environment: materials and processes are then required to build a replacement, and the old product has to be recycled or thrown away. Designing durable products avoids the environmental damage caused by frequent replacement. This principle is essential to the USM philosophy.
