USM takes centre stage at Nordstrom's NYC flagship store

The largest single volume piece of USM furniture constructed and installed in the US will house Nordstrom's Best Gift Ever!, a singular gift shop at Nordstrom NYC featuring unique and bespoke gifts conceived and curated by Olivia Kim, VP of Creative Projects at Nordstrom, with a selection chosen by celebrity guests including Amy Sedaris, Barbie Ferreira, Bill Nye, Chloe Sevigny, David Sedaris, Grace Coddington, Jen Brill, Mary J. Blige, Mel Ottenberg, RuPaul, Simone Rocha, and Stretch Armstrong.
A long-time fan of the heritage company, Kim collaborated with USM on a monumental installation design that would showcase the one-of-a-kind gifts she curated for Nordstrom's specialty holiday shop in a retail configuration that is equally one-of-a-kind. The result is a USM ruby red structure that features 1,220 signature USM Chrome Balls, 2,783 USM Chrome Tubes, and a total of 11,184 individual parts. “Our Best Gift Ever! holiday shop is stocked with such a wide range of unique items and we wanted to be thoughtful about displaying them in a way that encourages our customers to explore. I have been a long-time fan of USM, having pieces in both my home and office and it was important to me that this shop incorporated things I truly love,” says Olivia Kim, VP of Creative Projects at Nordstrom.

USM is proud to take centre stage at Nordstrom NYC. Proceeds from the shop will benefit New York City-based charitable organizations supported by Nordstrom, including Good +, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City and the Hetrick-Martin Institute.
The shop will be live throughout the holiday season, beginning Tuesday, November 26th available through Sunday, December 29th on the first level of Nordstrom NYC with a selection of products also available to shop online at Nordstrom.com.
