EDHEC Business School
Paris, France
Listed among the best European business schools, EDHEC has five campuses in France, London and Singapore.
Since 2012, the Paris campus has combined its continuing education and research in economics activities: 1900 m2 located in the heart of the business district of the Stock Exchange in a Haussmann building with an impressive glass roof designed by Gustave Eiffel. This building, built in the late 19th century, originally housed the head office of Crédit Lyonnais. In addition to EDHEC, it now hosts the newspaper Les Echos and several other renowned companies.
To invest this building in this district symbolized an opening of the school on the economic world and participated in its identity strategy.
Designed around an interior street, the glazed rooms are largely open to external views. This showcase exhibition and the open organization of the space make the interior design a real identity issue for the school.
In terms of aesthetics, the huge black reception desk creates a strong visual identity, relayed by the assorted furniture very present in the space.
In practical terms, the modularity of USM has created an original interior architecture. Adapted in height and width to the needs of users' privacy and breathing space, the furniture defines different work areas without partitioning. An innovative solution for an institution that is intrinsically forward-looking.
