USM caused a sensation at Neocon Chicago, 1984. Otherwise highly functional office furniture lost its usability: mounted overhead on the ceiling and reflected endlessly in mirrors, individual workstations gave the impression of an open-plan office. When visitors look into this image of multiple offices, they themselves become part of the magical infinity.
