Adverts for USM Haller in 1972 were already touting the ball as a unique selling point and the key to efficiency. Office furniture started to move thanks to rollers. With clear shelving, employees did not have to waste costly work time looking for stuff – an innovation introduced in 1965. 


USM positioned itself as a supporter of new work processes in step with modern office organisation, with processes incorporated in furniture design from the outset.
